HAIRY OUT THERE? HAVE NO FEAR.
THE SPIDER CASTING PLATFORM LETS YOU FISH ON DAYS YOU NEVER DREAMED POSSIBLE.
It took many prototypes before the Spider Casting Platform® was perfected, but the response from some of the best guides and anglers has been gratifying, to say the least. Capt. Bob Branham told us that, in average conditions, his catch rate has gone up dramatically. On windy days, it often means the difference between catching fish and not catching fish. Our friend Chris Cooper has many years of experience flyfishing the Keys and other great areas around the world. He bought an Islamorada 18 last year and regularly tells us how much he loves his boat. He also said that if he had to pick between his boat or the Spider, he would pick the Spider – even if he had to go back to fishing on John Kipps’ old Whipray. (He need not worry. John now has a brand new Islamorada Legacy).
"ON WINDY DAYS, IT OFTEN MEANS THE DIFFERENCE
BETWEEN CATCHING FISH AND NOT CATCHING FISH."
The Spider does several things that no other device can accomplish. The first is the ability to maintain total fly-line control from the first cast to any follow up casts no matter how windy. The line will not tangle or twist, wrap around anything, get under the boat or be under your feet. You are always ready for a quick cast with 360 degrees of coverage. The Spider also lets you stand on an elevated platform and be completely stable no matter what the conditions. The inside ring allows total freedom of movement but prevents the possibility of falling off the platform. This allows fishing places and conditions that were previously un-fishable. It also allows anglers to wear any type of footwear without fear of stepping on the line. Best of all, everyone tells us that they are far less tired at the end of the day.
From striper fishing in a rocking offshore rip, oceanside tarpon fishing on windy days when the fish are really moving, to chasing down migrating Cobia, the Spider has forever changed the way we fish.
